Two great video game franchises have come from the legendary Ed Boon. In 2013, he and his team at NetherRealm Studios introduced us to Injustice: Gods Among Us. This is an original fighting game that is based on the characters from the DC Universe. Then in 2017 they released a sequel Injustice 2. There we can take some of our favorite heroes and villains and pit them against each other.

There are some out there who are still championing a Snyder Cut of Justice League. So Boon has thrown in his hat in saying that he thinks, “Injustice would make a great feature film,” via his Twitter account. He was also re-tweeted by the writer for DC’s Injustice comic book Tom Taylor. You can check them both out below!

Injustice has a brutal story that would fit right in the dark DC Universe that director Zack Snyder was building. Like Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, the key to the story is Lois and Superman. The Joker tricks Superman into killing Lois Lane. This leads Superman to turn into an egomaniacal tyrant that is fueled by anger. Batman recruits a team to attempt to bring an end to Superman’s reign. But that is easier said than done as many heroes and villains have taken Superman’s side.

With how popular the video game was, it would make sense to possibly make a film. With a Flash film in the works in the next few years a Flashpoint situation that introduces us to the Injustice world. That way you can still use the same actors but explain why they are different than what is in the main story. The only drawback is that we will have to see Superman once again a lot darker than the all-American boy scout that is full of hope that we are used to.
