Ed Sheeran To Star In Danny Boyle’s New Comedy?

Danny Boyle may be the frontrunner to direct the next James Bond film, but before that, we can’t forget that before Bond sets out again, Boyle will be shooting another film — a comedy from writer Richard Curtis (Love Actually). According to the Daily Mail, the new comedy in question is called All You Need is Love, and it follows a man who wakes up to find that he’s the only person in the world who remembers The Beatles.

It’s a cool concept, and while we don’t really know who will be taking on that role, there is one famous dude who is reportedly in talks to at least appear in the movie. The man in question is musical artist Ed Sheeran. In addition to potentially locking down what’s being called a leading role, he will be writing original music for the movie — but don’t worry, because the film will also feature Beatles songs.

Someone at Working Title, the studio producing the flick, is reported saying:

“Everything Ed touches turns to gold. He is the biggest hit-maker on the planet. If anyone can make a film about the Beatles songs even better musically, it’s him.”

But can he deliver as a lead actor in a film? While Sheeran has proven his worth musically, he hasn’t done so as well onscreen. He recently had a cameo in the series Game of Thrones, and critics picked it apart (even if he had maybe like five lines). But, in all honesty, there wasn’t enough for anyone to really judge his acting abilities so…
