The reboots and sequels just keep coming! Yesterday we reported that Home Alone looks to be getting yet another sequel and today we are finding out about another one coming our way. August 7, 2020, Coming 2 America will hit theaters which is the sequel to 1988’s Coming to America and will star Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, and James Earl Jones, but that won’t be the only 80’s sequel we will see Murphy in.
According to the Collider interview above, Murphy reveals that they are in fact working on a Beverly Hills Cop 4. Beverly Hills Cop (1984), Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), and Beverly Hills Cop III (1994) followed the life of rebellious Detroit cop Alex Foley whose cases always had ties back to California.
The beginning of the video is Murphy talking about coming back to host SNL and he discusses Beverly Hills Cop 4, and his other future plans, around the one minute mark.
I have always been a fan of the Beverly Hills Cop series and will more than likely check the film out, at least for nostalgia’s sake. What about you? Will you be going to watch Beverly Hills Cop 4 or are you over the extended sequels/reboot phase? If you’re not over them, what other film series would you like to see receive a much-deserved sequel? Leave your thoughts in the usual spot, and thanks for reading!
