The Bad Boys franchise starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as Miami-Dade detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett goes back over twenty four years ago, when the first film, Bad Boys directed by Michael Bay was released in theaters in April of 1995. The sequel Bad Boys 2 came eight years after that in July of 2003 also directed by Michael Bay. Now the third film of the franchise, Bad Boys for Life is scheduled to be released in theaters this upcoming January, 2020 directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah.
As we saw in the trailer that was released in early September, Marcus is once again not happy with his close to death encounters that he finds himself with his partner Mike and he is ready to leave that life behind. But like in any good franchise that only has two films they must go on one last adventure together before they ride into the sunset. Today Sony Pictures released a new one sheet for the film. You can check it out below!
As you can see above, it’s a very generic image of both Smith and Lawrence looking down with most of their faces covered in the shadows. Their guns are drawn and it looks like they might be heading into their final confrontation. With the white background the focus is clearly on our dynamic crime fighting duo with their well known catchphrase “Ride Together. Die Together”. Seems like the marketing of the films is going to focus on a nostalgic audience that wants to know what happens to the two detectives.
Bad Boys for Life is written by Joe Carnahan and Chris Bremner and along with Smith and Lawrence the film stars Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Charles Melton, Paola Nunez, Kate Del Castillo, Nicky Jam and Joe Pantoliano. It is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Smith and Doug Belgrad. On board as executive producers are Barry Waldman, Chad Oman and Mike Stenson.
