Emilia Clarke has unfinished business with her Star Wars character Qi’ra the actress says. Clarke played Qi’ra, the former sweetheart of Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story. The movie certainly left plenty of room for more Qi’ra going forward. However, the poor performance of Solo has dampened much chance of a sequel.
Clarke has heard nothing about any continuation of Qi’ra’s story from Lucasfilm. For now she seems to debunk a few rumors that have said Solo could continue on Disney+. Clarke recently spoke to THR, about many things including her new comic Book M.O.M: Mother of Madness and talk turned to Star Wars.
“She’s the one that has the most unfinished business,” Clarke explains. “I really had pages about what her life was and what it would be afterwards. But I’m afraid I’ve heard nothing of [Disney+] being the case, so maybe I’ll just write it and send it to them. I’ll be like, ‘Hey guys, I’ve got a few ideas.’”
I’ve always said, though I didn’t love Solo, a sequel could have been far better. I guess for me, that sequel would not have to particularly revolve around Han at all. Far more interesting to me would be to follow the story of Qi’ra as she works her way through the ranks of Crimson Dawn. Canonically we know that not many years after Solo, Darth Maul was no longer in charge of Crimson Dawn. Maul’s appearances in Rebels showed a broken Maul who ultimately met his fate on Tatooine, by the lightsaber of Ben Kenobi.

Now a comic book set during the period between Empire and Jedi, has shown fans that Qi’ra is still involved with Crimson Dawn long after Maul’s death. In Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters, Qi’ra is one of several interested parties looking to acquire the frozen body of Han Solo from Boba Fett.
I agree that Emilia Clarke has unfinished business with the Qi’ra character. Though, whether that business ever gets finished in Star Wars live-action is harder to guess? As always, leave any thoughts below.
