Has Emilia Clarke’s Secret Invasion character been revealed? It goes without saying if this rumor pans out then there are potential SPOILERS here for Secret Invasion, so be warned! We’ve know that Clarke plays a pivotal role within Secret Invasion, but as of now anything on her character and what her motivations are has been purely speculative. However according to regular Marvel insider MTTTSH, Clarke is playing the Skrull character Veranke. Check it out below.

Now in support of this I have seen a few images of someone in a BTS shot with a Skrull mask on and yet wearing very similar clothes to Clarke is seen to wear in other BTS shots. This all started to come out after the social media post above. In other words, I think this is legit. So who is Veranke?
In the comics, Veranke was a member of the Dard’van. The Dard’van were a religious sect of Skrull society who prophesied the end of the Skrull Empire. Exiled as a zealot by then-ruler Dorrek VII, Veranke eventually took his place as Skrull Empress and orchestrated the ‘Secret Invasion’.

It could then be that Clarke is playing the key antagonist role in Secret Invasion after all? However there is more.
In the comics Veranke disguised herself as Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman when on Earth. In other words it is therefore possible for Clarke to play an antagonist in Secret Invasion but then also play the real Spider-Woman going forward in the MCU. If that is the case, then Clarke’s character is potentially both Jessica Drew and Veranke depending on which part of the story we are on in Secret Invasion. One actress playing two very different people who look the same is a pretty great gig to be fair. If this is true, it sounds very cool.
