The real Slim Shady recently stood up and performed his new song “Venom” at The Empire State Building and it was shown on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Eminem of course wrote the song for the soundtrack of the Sony film of the same name that stars Tom Hardy which is currently on it’s way to being a huge success for the studio. While I think the video was well shot and all around nicely done, in comparison to the rest of Eminem’s catalogue, it’s not quite up to par in my opinion, the song was mediocre, but it should make for a nice accompaniment track for the film. The best part of the video for me was seeing the exchange between Eminem and Jimmy Kimmel Live cast member, Guillermo Rodriguez, who gave Eminem a new microphone.
While he is arguably one of the best rappers ever, for me, Slim Shady was best on his first two albums, after that there is a noticeable drop in quality. Though he is as relevant as ever, having recently replied to a dis from another rapper, Machine Gun Kelly, and was proclaimed the victor by the entity known as “The Internet”.
