Ed and Lorraine Warren are characters that first graced the silver screen in the first Conjuring film. Since then, they’ve only appeared in its sequel The Conjuring 2, even though all of these stories are theoretically based on the Warren case files. Well, luckily, it looks like their involvement in the spin-off films will be extended. According to Deadline, the two will be starring in another upcoming spin-off.

The movie in question is none other than Annabelle 3, the sixth film in the franchise that spans The Conjuring movies, the Annabelle movies, and the Nun movies. Here’s what is in store for us in the next installment, per the outlet.

Annabelle 3, the sixth title in The Conjuring franchise, picks up with the Warrens bringing the Annabelle doll to a place where she can no longer wreak havoc: their Artifacts Room. Annabelle awakens the room’s evil which sets its sights on a new target: the Warrens’ ten year old daughter Judy. The young girl, along with her teenage babysitter cousin and the cousin’s friend, square off against the evil doll.”

This is a natural place for the story to pick up. If you’ll recall, the Annabelle doll was introduced in the first Conjuring film, and since then, its backstory has been explored in Annabelle and Annabelle: Creation, which both act as prequels. So this will be the first time that we go past that first film, as it picks up after the doll has been stored away in the artifacts room.
