Empire’s Cover Featuring Blade Runner 2049 Is Gorgeous

And now for something not Spider-Man: Homecoming related…

Blade Runner 2049 is coming our way this October. A sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 film, Blade Runner, Harrison Ford returns as Rick Deckard, joined by newcomers Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto, Robin Wright, MacKenzie Davis, Ana de Armas, and Dave Bautista. Directed by Denis Villeneuve (Arrival), the film is set thirty years after the events of the original movie, following a new Blade Runner, LAPD Office K (Gosling), as he unearths a long-buried secret with the help of Deckard.

We’ve already seen a decent teaser and incredibly rad full trailer for the film (above), showcasing the world of Blade Runner in the year 2049. And what a beautiful, neon world it is, just as the original, but updated to show the passage of time and showcase modern age special effects.

Empire has released an image of their limited edition subscribers cover, featuring a Blade Runner 2049 graphic even more bright and neon than anything in the trailer. Just compare the above image from the trailer to the cover and you may notice the difference.

Blade Runner 2049 hits the big screen on October 6, 2017.
