Erika Alexander is part of the fine cast ensemble in Wildflower including Jean Smart, Brad Garrett, and Jacki Weaver. Based on a true family story where a grandchild grows up taking care of his disabled parents and taking on the unusual challenges in between. Alexander is the social worker who navigates the family stories to provide the best guidance possible.
The Synopsis
Inspired by a true story, Wildflower is a coming-of-age film that follows Bea Johnson (Kiernan Shipka, “Carriers”) from birth to graduation as she navigates life with two neurodivergent parents and an extended family who can’t quite agree on the best way to help.
The talented Erika Alexander began acting classes during her teenage years. Her debut came in 1986 with My Little Girl and three years later she was part of The Long Walk Home with Sissy Spacek and Whoopi Goldberg. I had the opportunity to connect with Erika Alexander for the second time to discuss her participation in Wildflower. She was happy to discuss getting to interact with well known actors for the film. Getting to work with Kiernan Shipka for a completely different dynamic in Swimming With Sharks and her experience in a particular scene with Jacki Waver. I also asked her about what she looks for in the project today and more!
