While promoting Ant-man and the Wasp, which releases nationwide this Friday, actress Evangeline Lilly was asked during an interview with Entertainment Weekly if she would ever consider reprising a role she is known for by many people, Kate Austen from LOST.
“There’s a rumor every year that they are going to reboot LOST. The thing about reboots and remakes is that I don’t like them in general, period. I want people to leave Star Wars alone! I did love Rogue One, as an aside. But for the most part, I don’t usually love them. I feel like it’s just tainting something that’s precious. I’ve said I don’t want to do things in the past and I’ve done them — you know, never say never — but sitting where I am today, my assumption is no.”

While I feel the same way as Lilly does about reboots to an extent, certain franchises I am ok with rebooting, LOST being one of them as it is one of my favorite shows of all-time and I would totally be in on a reboot or even a continuance. Hollywood is going to reboot films and shows whether us fans like it or not, so all we can really do is hope they’re good, or that the revivals enhance the originals and don’t tarnish the franchises’ legacies.
