Fan Has Already Decoded Riddler’s Message From The Batman Teaser – What Does It Say?

Pattinson On How Different Tonally The Batman Is And Sequel Teases

A fan has decoded Riddler’s message from The Batman teaser. Read on to find out what it says?

If you watched the teaser trailer for The Batman, you probably noticed a riddle for Batman to solve? There appears to be a dead body with what may be Riddler’s first clue to Batman written in a code. Of course, in this internet age we live in, it didn’t take someone long to beat Batman to the puzzle. Check out this post from Twitter user Andrew Lane.

The riddle says, “What does a liar do when he’s dead?”. The answer it seems is, “He lies still.” It’s a pretty cool little riddle and clearly gives Batman just enough information to probably investigate the victim more thoroughly. Many fans, myself included are predicting a connection to The Court of Owls. Could Bruce’s family be connected to this shadowy organisation? Could The Court of Owls be the source of corruption in Gotham that Batman needs to discover? Why is Riddler so intent on both killing these victims and allowing Batman to ‘play along’?

It’s all very intriguing, however when the movie does release, the audience may be one step ahead of Batman. Any more of Riddler’s puzzles though, will have to be decoded by the Bat himself. I can’t see anything else being revealed to the public before release. I know my own thoughts on this teaser for The Batman have given me a Fincher Se7en vibe. With Riddler playing the John Doe role and Batman being the detectives one step behind. Though, I anticipate that Batman will go one better and get ahead of Riddler somehow in the movie.

I recall many fans predicting what Riddler could be like before we knew Bane was the villain of The Dark Knight Rises. I think the idea of a Jigsaw, John Doe like serial killer that left clues for Batman to solve was extremely popular. It seems like Matt Reeves either agreed with that representation of the character, or got there on his own. Of course, this is all just from a short teaser trailer, so Riddler could be different once we see the full movie.

Do you like the way Riddler seems to be portrayed in the movie? What do you think of the decoded Riddler’s message from The Batman teaser? Leave your thoughts below as always.
