Fantastic Beasts 2 Poster Shows Grindelwald Against The World

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is a short month-plus away from hitting, and thus we will be two-fifths of the way through this new Wizarding World franchise that only seems to grow in scope as time goes on. As the title indicates, the main baddie this time around is none other than Gellert Grindelwald, played by Johnny Depp.

So far in the trailers, we’ve seen him seduce the minds of great wizards, and if you were at San Diego Comic-Con this year in Hall H, you may have seen him give a chilling speech very much in the vein of one Adolf Hitler. Needless to say, this guy’s about as bad as they get, and like many bad guys, he has a lot of people going up against him.

In the latest poster for the film, we see that imagery realized in a very effective fashion.

It’s a great poster, and in it, we get to see Grindelwald making his way down a cobblestone road in Paris (we know it’s Paris because of the Eiffel Tower in the background). The main group is back on the right side of the image, and on the left, we get newcomers such as Dumbledore, Newt’s brother, Nagini, and Leta Lestrange. Credence is also on the poster, and it’s al set against an amazing Deathly Hallows motif, also in the background.

It’s a gorgeous piece of art and while this could have had the effect of making Grindelwald sympathetic since he’s the one with the chips stacked against him, the way he’s holding his wand really shows just how much of an evil asshole he is.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald hits theaters on November 16, 2018.
