Here is what the trade reports,

‘Disney announced on Wednesday that Marvel Studios is scheduled to release an untitled movie on Dec. 15, 2028. It would be the fourth feature from the division set for that calendar year, with previously announced films scheduled for release in February, May and November of 2028.’

‘Should all four films hold onto those dates — which is not nearly certain — it would be an unexpected move for the studio, given Disney CEO Bob Iger’s recent public admission that Marvel “lost a little focus by making too much.”’

Like Variety, I have doubts all four movies will remain. My guess is we end up with only 3. Now, as per the title story, here is what Variety casually dropped at the bottom of the article.

‘Other Marvel projects in development that could wind up opening in 2028 include the aforementioned “Blade,” “Black Panther 3,” and a “Fantastic Four” sequel.’

Normally Marvel would be waiting for reactions before deciding to pish ahead with a sequel. Probably just to know whether they need to change things up. I guess this means the studio are pretty confident the movie will hit with audiences.

The only movie I’d add into that mix, even if it’s not coming in 2028 is Doctor Strange 3. However, I have a feeling we could get that either before or after Secret Wars. I may be way out on that, but we know Strange doesn’t seem to have a huge role in Doomsday.

As for the second part of this article, in a recent article from Deadline covering CineEurope’s Disney presence, the trade talks Marvel. Kevin Feige says that Fantastic Four: First Steps will lead directly into Avengers: Doomsday according to the article.

‘Exhibitors were also shown a new trailer for Fantastic Four: First Steps, introduced by Marvel boss Kevin Feige, who also teased Avengers: Doomsday now shooting in London and due for release in December 2026. The events of F4, Feige said, will lead directly into Doomsday.’

So, a Fantastic Four sequel is already in development and Kevin Feige says First Steps leads directly into Avengers: Doomsday.
