Filmmaker Josh Tessier and Actor William Kat On The Action-Thriller Overrun [Exclusive Interview]

I’ll throw a couple of names out there for you. Sam Hargrave, Chad Stahelski, and David Leitch. These are all directors that have a background in stunts. After taking hits for years, now they are calling the shots with some amazing action films. I bring these names up because we have a new player entering the filmmaking arena, Josh Tessier with his action/thriller film Overrun.

Tessier has worked on such projects as The Mandalorian, The Walking Dead: Red Machete, The Thundermans, and Stargate Origins. Now he is taking his passion for film and calling the shots. With a very challenging shooting schedule, he worked with a great group of people that we’re able to bring Overrun to life.

Overrun

Here is the synopsis for Strike Back Studios’ Overrun

“Overrun” follows former military extraction specialist Marcus Lombardi (Omid Zader), whose only chance of saving his informant sister and their family is to track down a mysterious briefcase.  A stylistic cinematic sibling to cult classics like “Reservoir Dogs,” “Smoking Aces,” and the “John Wick” franchise,  “Overrun” offers audiences a thrill ride filled with martial arts action work and epic gun fights.

With the release of Overrun this week, LRM Online’s Emmanuel Gomez talked with Josh Tessier. Primarily about his directorial debut with Overrun. Joining us in the conversation is William Katt, who plays the troubled Detective Ed Dobbs in the film. We talk about the recent transitions of stunt coordinators to directors. As well as the limited time that they had to shoot the film and the challenges that it added to making the film. No doubt that there is a lot of passion for filmmaking from these two. You can check out the full interview down below!

Strike Back Studios’ Overrun is now available on Digital and Blu-ray/DVD.
