Final Destination: Bloodlines Premieres Tomorrow, Taking Fans Back To the Origins of Death’s Design

“Final Destination: Bloodlines,” the prequel to New Line Cinema’s legendary horror franchise, premieres tomorrow, May 16, 2025, in theaters and IMAX nationwide. The film has already started to rolling out internationally, offering fans around the globe a chilling return to the twisted rules of fate that made the original saga a genre-defining hit.

Directed by Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, Bloodlines dives deep into the dark origins of the franchise’s signature theme: no one cheats death. This latest installment follows Stefanie (played by Kaitlyn Santa Juana), a college student haunted by violent, recurring nightmares. Driven by fear and desperation, she returns to her hometown to uncover a sinister family legacy—one marked by a deadly force that has claimed lives across generations.

Tony Todd, the iconic presence whose haunting performances have anchored the Final Destination universe, makes his long-awaited return in a role that fans have been eager to see revived. He joins a cast that includes Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, and more.

“Final Destination: Bloodlines” is written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, based on a story by Jon Watts (who also produces) along with Busick and Evans Taylor. The film’s roots trace back to the original characters created by Jeffrey Reddick, who launched the franchise’s first fatal chain reaction in 2000.

Behind the scenes, the production is stacked with seasoned talent: Craig Perry, a longtime steward of the franchise, returns as producer alongside Sheila Hanahan Taylor, Dianne McGunigle, and Toby Emmerich. The film’s visuals and tone are shaped by cinematographer Christian Sebaldt, production designer Rachel O’Toole, editor Sabrina Pitre, and composer Tim Wynn.

Costume design by Michelle Hunter and casting by Rich Delia round out the creative team, ensuring that Bloodlinesremains faithful to the franchise’s legacy while opening the door to a new generation of fans.
