Final Fantasy VII: Remake- Intergrade (With Yuffie’s Intermission / 235 Sleep)… Why I May Not Play The DLC For A While

Before you hit the comments about how great Yuffie’s Intermission DLC is and how brilliant Kingdom Hearts names are, know that I love Final Fantasy VII and KH. It is my favorite game in the series, and while I don’t love every game that has been released for it, I have played them. When Final Fantasy VII: Remake was announced I lost my shit. You did too if you’re reading this. It was a dream come true and something Square Enix had been trolling us with since a PS3 Tech Demo in the early 21st Century. Yeah, we’re almost a quarter in, I can say early now!

Final Fantasy VII Remake Interlude Yuffie Intermission DLC

I played through FFVII: R with a solid 60 hours logged in. However, I did have some AFK (AFC?) time so my real finish is between 50 and 52 hours I expect. Regardless, we’re here to talk about the upcoming Final Fantasy VII: Remake- Interlude I’ll be honest, I do not know which is the right way to do this title. No, I don’t even trust Square Enix! To be fair, Final Fantasy has had some silly names too. You can look them up, I have rambled enough.

Yuffie The Thieving… Person

I love FFVII so much that I have played it nearly every year since 1998. I started in 97 but it took over 100 hours of play, and winter break, to finish. What I didn’t like was Yuffie. During my first playthrough, I didn’t get her in my party at first. My first interaction is this punk-ass chick stealing my stuff!

After completing the game I purchased a walkthrough, sure GameFAQs existed, but I wanted the beautiful 3D maps in color, not text. I learned that Yuffie had some skills that could be useful and went through a second time using the guide, and the internet, to get a 100% completion in about 145 hours. It turns out I was not fast on my Chcocbo racing and breeding. I still didn’t like the character. Every play since has seen me use her to get a few things and then ignore her like texts from my wife. Come to think of it, I use my wife for… OH MY GOD CALL…

Yuffie Intermission DLC

Intermission DLC

So I am getting my PS5 upgrade for FFVII: R but Yuffie’s Intermission DLC is something I am not excited about. I am a fan that can ignore things I do not like and fully enjoy the things I do. I am a comic book fan, after all. The game will be played, and I am in no way against it being made. Well, that last point is dependent on whether or not this slowed the progress of Final Fantasy VII: Remake Part 2. I just have no positive connections to this character. The Compilation of Final Fantasy VII is hit or miss, and its status as canon is very much in flux. There are some answers in FFVII: R, but I won’t get into that here. But you can check out an awesome podcast about it HERE.

The DLC does look fun, and I will appreciate getting to know her battle style in case I am required to use her in the future. I will play the game, it just may not happen any time soon.

Are you getting the DLC? If you’ve played it, what are your thoughts? Also, what is your opinion on the Yuffie character? Let us know in the comments below!
