The first House of the Dragon set photo’s have made their way online. There are quite a few images taken from filming at a beach in Cornwall, England. Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy who play Daemon and Rhaenyra respectively were filmed, presumably by a pap or local, shooting a scene on the beach. There is not much to speak of really, Smith and D’Arcy were walking and talking with one another on a beach which could be a stand in for anywhere from Dragonstone to Kings Landing. However, the costumes are getting a lot of love from Thrones fans for being true Targaryen colors.
We cannot share the images here, however we can send you a link to r/HouseOfTheDragon where it seems all of those images were posted. For those that do not do Reddit, luckily there are a few social media posts kicking around that we can link. Check it out below courtesy of @TheFilmUpdates.

Typically so far I am seeing one of three reactions to the images, and House of the Dragon in general. First, that Game of Thrones ended so badly fans have no interest in anything related to the franchise. Especially for some fans given this is a prequel that they know the end of. Then there’s fans unhappy with Game of Thrones finale, that can feel themselves being drawn to House of the Dragon. Finally we have those who are just happy to have a period from this franchise they always wanted to see adapted on screen. Fans who loved the Game of Thrones final season? Are there any of those out there?
I’m genuinely not sure what category I fall into of those three other than it’s not the first one. I do want this show to be great, and my hope is that with creator George R.R. Martin more involved than he was at the tail end of Thrones, it might work. Then again, I also just wish Martin would ignore all these mega money offers and just write the next book. Yeah, like any of us would do that?
