Marvel’s Ironheart Disney+ series has found it’s showrunner/head writer in Chinaka Hodge according to a new report from Variety. We have known for some time that Ironheart will star Dominic Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who develops a more advanced suit than Tony Stark. Though both Marvel and Hodge have declined to comment, it would be highly unlikely for the trade to have this one wrong. Hodge is likely most known for her work on TV series Snowpiercer. Though, Hodge is also a published author and has penned several plays as well. It should now only be a matter of time before Hodge is confirmed as head writer for Ironheart.
That might not be long at all. According to THR reporter Aaron Couch, the writers room for Ironheart is set to kick off this May. Couch also reveals that he has heard the series will be six episodes long like The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Check out couch’s social media post below.

It is expected that Williams/Thorne could actually make her debut in Armor Wars as opposed to her own Ironheart series. However that really is just rumor mill gossip for now. Just like we have seen Sam Wilson take the mantle of Captain America from Steve Rogers recently, Williams will I guess take the Iron Man mantle from Tony Stark. The characters of Tony and Riri are quite different though. Tony was born rich and went on to make even more money than his dad ever did. Williams instead if we go by the comics invents her suit whilst still a poor student at MIT. However Sam, like Riri was also a different beast to Steve Rogers. The importnat part is what they do with what they have, that’s what connects these characters as heroes in the MCU.
