Dwayne Johnson has managed to make a career off movies that really only work in their most shallow and most base form. San Andreas came out, and despite its stupidity, managed to work pretty well. The truth can be said of the recently-released Jumanji, which exceeded everyone’s wildest expectations both in terms of overall quality and box office success.

One of his 75 other films that’s set to hit theaters later this year is the upcoming Skyscraper, which seems to be an unabashed ripoff of the classic film, Towering Inferno. The film will have its trailer debut this coming Sunday during the Super Bowl.
In advance of this trailer premiere, Rotten Tomatoes launched a sneak peek, giving us 17 seconds for them to build up the premise. While 17 seconds isn’t a whole lot of time, they actually manage to do a pretty solid job, with Johnson’s character outlining the core challenge with the titular skyscraper of the film.
“You’ve built the tallest, most advanced building in the world, but you’ve brought with it every single safety and security challenge that I can think of. Not only have you brought them all indoors, but you’ve trapped them 240 floors in the air.”
Sounds like another amazingly dumb and fun ride in the theaters. I’m already sold.
