After hearing about the strange wizardry involved we have finally got our first look at the Retractable Lightsaber. We know this is coming, but as yet all we have seen are descriptions and some technical information about how the Tech works. This is brief, but we are told this is that Star Wars Retractable Lightsaber technology in action. If it looks this good in real life, it will sell.
Now I’m sure the naysayers will say that this could have easily been done in post as per the movies etc. However we also have to remember that Disney have already claimed this tech works and that they will be selling them at Disney parks. I’m pretty sure this is just the first time we are being allowed to see it in action. Some Disney execs have already seen this in action and been positive we are told.

I know some fans have pointed out that these may seem great, until the fans start play fighting with them. However, really, you don’t play fight with certain more expensive models. Fans already know which toys will shatter into a thousand pieces when they try and fight with them and which will either take a hit, or you don’t acre because they are cheap. I could instead see this Retractable Lightsaber used for the more upscale cosplays, fan made home movies and the like.
