First Pictures Of Djimon Honsou As The Fisherman King In Aquaman

Fans are eager to see the upcoming trailer for James Wan’s Aquaman starring Jason Momoa at SDCC next week. This will be the first DCEU movie released since the epic failure of Justice League.

As comic movie fans, we are all hoping DC have got their act together on this one. The movies underwater setting is at least sure to provide a unique visual treat, but good visuals alone won’t be enough to pull in audiences currently unexcited by the DCEU so far. Lets hope the story matches the visual sheen and that James Wan can deliver a satisfying standalone movie for Momoa’s Aquaman.

In a surprising bit of news EW has revealed that actor Djimon Honsou will be playing the character of The Fisherman King. The Fisherman King is the leader of a an off shoot of the Atalantean society that have evolved into a more fish like species. Here is what producer Peter Safran told the outlet about this race of people.

“After the fall of Atlantis, some of the kingdoms evolved and some devolved. This is one that evolved. This is a kingdom that’s primarily artistic and cerebral, with poets and philosophers.”

We can’t share the pictures of Honsou and his on screen family, but you can check them out Here.

They certainly look fantastic, and the outlet says that this scene takes place when Orome (Patrick Wilson) calls the Kingdoms together to propose a war on the surface world. With Honsou also set to play the Wizard for DC in Shazam along with his Marvel appearances In Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel, he is certainly getting plenty of work from the comic book world.
