Earlier this week Peacock released the first teaser to its new action-comedy series “Twisted Metal” which is set to debut in late July. This is another video game adaptation that is based on the popular video game from the 90s. You can it out below!
“Twisted Metal” follows Anthony Mackie’s John Doe, who is described as a “motor-mouth outsider”. He comes across a supposed life-changing opportunity where all he has to do is deliver a mysterious package. The catch is that he has to drive through a post-apocalyptic wasteland that is filled with killer cars. By the looks of it, part of that wasteland includes what used to be Las Vegas now, now “Lost Vegas”.
The PlayStation games this series is based on features a variety of deadly demolition derby vehicles that destroy each other in hellish tournaments. One of the most iconic characters in the game is a killer clown known as Sweet Tooth that drives an ice cream truck. Fans of the series were probably very excited to get a glimpse of the character at the end of the trailer.

Guest stars on the series will include Neve Campbell, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans, Chloe Fineman, and Lou Beatty Jr.
Showrunner and executive producer Michael Jonathan Smith said, “This is a bonkers show about insiders and outsiders, and how our own special apocalypse has divided and isolated us more than ever. But there’s hope. You can find your people and your community. You may just have to get past a terrifying clown driving a well-armed ice cream truck to find them.”
“Twisted Metal” features 10-30 minute episodes that will be released on July 27 exclusively on Peacock.
