Amazon Prime has announced five new cast members for The Wheel of Time Season 3 ahead of the premiere on March 17th. Isabella Bucceri (Everything in Between), Nukâka Coster-Waldau (Thin Ice), Salóme Gunnarsdóttir (Justice League), Björn Landberg (Galileo Mystery), and Synnøve Macody Lund (Ragnarok) have joined the cast of Prime Video‘s fantasy epic series The Wheel of Time.
We also have some copy from Amazon Prime on their roles. Now, as a book fan I could go into more detail, but I won’t for those watching the show alone. Additionally, there seem to be differences in some of these characters from the book versions. This makes sense given the show is always looking to cut the sheer amount of characters down and have one or two named characters do what five or six do in the books.
Check it out.
Bucceri plays Faile Bashere, a Saldaean ‘Hunter of the Horn,’ whose efforts to locate a treasured relic have led her to The Two Rivers. (Faile is likely the biggest character of those announced here.)
Coster-Waldau portrays eldest Wise One, Bair, the most respected member of the Taardad Aiel. Her authority and wisdom are held in higher regard even than that of the Clan Chief. Along with being able to channel the One Power, she has access to an even more mystical ability. (Yes, she’s the wife of Jaime ‘Fookin’ Lannister).
Gunnarsdóttir plays Melaine, a Wise One of the Taardad Aiel. Despite not being able to channel, she is able to access a more mystical power.

Landberg is Rhuarc, the well-respected Clan Chief of the Taardad Aiel. Having passed the trial of Rhuidean to become Chief, he is one of the few Aiel who knows what lies within the fog, though he is forbidden to speak of it.
Lund plays Melhindra, a Malkieri survivor who was taken in and raised by the Taardad Aiel.
Melhindra is definitely the one I’m curious about what they do with her in the show. Her role in Book 4 which is the one being adapted…well. Let’s just say she spends a lot of time with a character somewhere we don’t think that character will be in the show version. Though as said above Faile is by far the biggest character here with likely Bair/Rhuarc being next in the list.
Not long to go now till The Wheel of Time returns and I’m excited for it.
