The Northman, starring Alexander Skarsgård is an upcoming Viking epic by filmmaker Robert Eggers. With the first trailer being revealed earlier this month, Focus Feature just released the official movie poster for the film. Directed by Robert Eggers, the film is loosely based on a real event and has a lot of similarities to Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
The Viking epic draws on the well-known Shakespearean tale, Hamlet, with influences from Norse ancient times. The official synopsis describes the film as an “action-filled epic that follows a young Viking prince on his quest to avenge his father’s murder.”
