The latest DCU Barside Buzz says that four minor roles for Superman: Legacy are still to be cast. I actually mentioned one or two of these myself as I was covering the official casting. However the folks at r/DCULeaks have posted some information they claim they’ve been able to verify.

Here is the Legacy casting information the subreddit says they’re confident of.

‘An offer was made to an actor for Perry White, so expect this to be one of the next announcements.’

As you can see no name, but expect some rumors to pop up or a trade announcement soon

‘Next up for casting is Ma and Pa Kent. Gunn is looking at actors in their 50s-70s and lesser known names.’

‘They’re also casting a male for a comedic role in his 40s-50s and with Gunn’s recent tease, don’t be surprised if it’s Steve Lombard’

Lombard appeared in All-Star Superman which is one of Gunn’s cited influences for this movie. However, clearly the name wasn’t verified, just the casting call. Therefore don’t take that last part to the bank.

Another role that may yet be cast is Brainiac. The subreddit has one partially verified rumor that Brainiac is the main villain of the movie.

I would guess these roles will be filled within a week or two and that will be everything all set for production to begin early 2024. If Brainiac is in the movie, it’s possible that casting has been kept secret. It could even be a voice only role, which is easier to keep under wraps. However, despite Brainiac rumors I have yet to see one single rumor of whom may play the part.

I just would not count my chickens on Brainiac just yet folks. After all, we already have Luthor cast and he is a big enough villain that he doesn’t need someone else. That obviously depends on the character arc of Luthor at this point though.
