Our main cast is near complete as Superman: Legacy casts Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen and Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher. Both pieces of casting were reported separately by trades. THR on Gisondo and Deadline on Sampaio. However this was then confirmed by director James Gunn on Instagram.

Here is what Gunn had to say about the latest piece of casting.

“After auditioning hundreds of folks for both of these roles, we finally found perfect fits with both @skylergisondo and @sarasampaio! Can’t wait for you guys to see them in action the summer of ‘25!

This is now the third and fourth piece of casting news we’eve had for Superman: Legacy since the strikes ended. First it was announced that Maria Gabriela de Faria is playing The Engineer in the movie, which was also confirmed by Gunn. Then we had the report this week that Nicholas Hoult is Lex Luthor. Though, that one has yet to be confirmed by Gunn, that I’ve seen. Finally, (maybe) Jimmy Olsen and Miss Teschmacher are cast. This is in addition to Superman, Lois, and may other heroes from this universe who were all cast before the strikes began.

Superman: Legacy will begin filming in early 2024 and is set for a June 11th, 2025 release date.

There may still be some other roles to cast, though I said all the major roles were done when the Luthor story broke. I meant that, because normally Jimmy Olsen isn’t a major role. Or, I should say not normally, without a script it’s hard to say how big some of these parts will be.

There are a couple of names we are still expecting and have yet to hear about. One would assume we will see Superman’s father Jor’El at some point, and I’d assume Perry White is around. There were some rumors Gunn was after Kurt Russell for Jor’El, but nothing solid. Not heard a single casting rumor yet about Perry White.
