FX Renews Several Shows, Including It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and Better Things

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has become the longest-running live-action comedy series. Thanks to FX renewing the show for a fifteenth season. Other renewals by the network include The Weekly getting its sophomore season (reportedly due to a story from the first season earning a Pulitzer Prize), and Better Things for season 5. The network also gave the go-ahead for the American Horror Story spin-off, American Horror Stories.

President of FX Entertainment, Eric Schrier:

“We couldn’t be more excited about our roster of new and returning shows slated through next year. It has been an extraordinary time for FX over these past three months with the launch of FX on Hulu, which has transformed our business. We believe the continued strength of our original series coupled with the growing awareness of FˆX on Hulu as our streaming platform will make the FX brand stronger and more relevant and accessible than ever before.”

I am not familiar with the renewed shows except for It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and a few seasons of American Horror Story. However, I am familiar with Pamela Adlon and do enjoy her work, so I may give Better Things a chance.

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is arguably the best sitcom to ever grace the screen. In the last few seasons the network has cut down the episode order. And if you ask me it’s paid off handily as while the show was never terrible, the last few seasons have experienced a surge of greatness, bringing the show to the heights it once was at.
