Fans of what is arguably the greatst television show of all time, Game of Thrones, returned to the fictional land of Westeros last night as the eighth and final season of the show premiered on HBO. After a long, long wait, showrunners Benioff and Weiss delivered to fans what will likely be thought of as the best season opener and perhaps one of the show’s best episodes overall.
The long-running informative series 60 Minutes was able to get a rare behind-the-scenes look at the show and you can check out that video at the top of this article.

Anderson Cooper was shown around by Jon Snow himself as you can see in the video above. What an awesome experieince that any Game of Thrones fans would do most anything to be a part of.
Cooper also spoke with the creator of the novels from which the television series is based on, George R. R. Martin, who still hasn’t finished the stories as far as the books, and it seems, may on some level regret this decision. You can check out what Martin had to say below.
“I gave my baby up for adoption and she’s not my baby anymore, but the books are still my baby.”
Martin has said in the past that the show and the books will have a different ending.
