As the last pieces of the epic story that is Game of Thrones begin to fall into place, we have the final teaser for what is thought by many fans as the best season of the show. The silence of this preview sent chills down my spine, nothing needed be said, as all the major players in the game arrive at King’s Landing for a meeting bringing the culmination of six seasons. Not a word is spoken through the majority of the teaser, the preview shows King’s landing being surrounded and builds its way to a meeting in the courtyard. Doing this makes the coming episode feel even more ominous.
The look on Tyrion’s face when arriving at King’s Landing says it all, as smart as he is, he cannot be sure the outcome of this meeting, he looks uncomfortable to say the least. As Daenerys told Tyrion in the last episode they are literally walking into the lion’s den. The purpose here, is to one, negotiate a truce, and two, convince Cersei to join the fight against the White Walkers and the army of the dead. Fans must be drooling (I know I am) at the long awaited interactions between characters that are coming with this episode. We should have Cersei, Jaime, Tyrion, Jon and Daenerys all in the same location together. And it should be everything we have ever wanted from this show up to this point.
As with most of the dialogue this season, the meeting at King’s landing should provide some speeches worthy of being delivered from a mountaintop. Even with evidence in tow, it will not be easy to convince Cersei to join them, she is incredibly vain and stubborn. However seeing the armies and dragons of Daenerys Targaryen in person can be very persuasive. Game of Thrones fans know there isn’t really a way to predict how all this will go down. I of course cannot be sure, but I do not think we will get a battle in this upcoming episode, whether we do or not, this episode will provide the groundwork for the eighth and final season.
