Things are never easy in Game of Thrones. No matter how hard characters struggle to survive their terrible situations in life, all to often, they fall victim to the harsh realities of real life. In the Starks’ cases, they had their family ripped apart, and most haven’t had the luxury of ever reuniting just yet. However, last season saw Jon Snow and Sansa Stark reunite to take on the devious Ramsay Bolton.

While their desire to take down Ramsay certainly united them, the sad reality is that the two of them are still coming from very different places. In the time since Jon Snow left, he’s had a completely unique experience from Sansa, and as such, there’s bound to be a struggle of sorts. The happiness of their reunion could not outweigh the experience they’ve accumulated.

Speaking with EW, actor Kit Harington hinted at a power struggle between Jon Snow and Sansa Stark.

“There is definite tension between them right from the first scene. There are the same problems — she questions his decisions and command; he doesn’t listen to her. But as far as where that goes or takes them or how dark it can get, we’ll see. It gets past sibling squabbling, it gets into two people power struggling.”

While we’d like to think that the pair would be able to work past such political squabbling, the history of Game of Thrones seems to point to this becoming a more bloody affair than we could ever hope for. 

Hopefully with the threat of the White Walker imminent, they’ll be able to set their difference aside to make things work.

We’ll have to wait and see.
