Just outside of three months away from the premiere of the eighth and final season of HBO‘s Game of Thrones. Easily at the top of my most anticipated list for 2019, with Avengers: Endgame coming in a close second. Us fans have waited for what seems like forever,  and now we can finally see the show’s end in the distance.

While fans don’t really have a clue as to how the events of Season 8 will go down, wahtwe do know is the season will begin with Daenerys Targaryen arriving in Winterfell, much like Robert Baratheon arrived in the very first episode of the show. Today, photos of the upcoming season were released online.  You can check out a few of them below, and the full gallery here. It’s dfficult to make out much of what is going on in the images, I am just happy to see the old gang again.

Fans of the show know as well as I do, that Season 8 will be bittersweet insofar as it is sure to be epic and likely the best finale to a television series any of us have ever seen. There is a feeling of dread that comes along with it, because, what will we all do when it’s over? Sure, there is at least one prequel coming our way, but, it just won’t be the same, at least for me. Will any show ever be able to fill the void left by Game of Thrones?
