Game Of Thrones Spin-Off Hedge Knight Series To Shoot Spring 2024

According to a new report the Game of Thrones spin-off (prequel) Hedge Knight series will shoot in Spring, 2024. The information here comes from TheWrap who say that the prequel spin-off show titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms based on the Dunk and Egg books are planned to shoot next Spring pending the resolution of the SAG-AFTRA strikes. The outlet were present at a recent slate reveal for HBO/Max.

‘“Game of Thrones” prequel series “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” based on George R.R. Martin’s “Dunk and Egg” books, plans to begin production in spring 2024 pending a resolution to the SAG-AFTRA strike.’

The series in question is set around one hundred years prior to the events of Game of Thrones. Though, that’s not quite as far back as currently airing series House of the Dragon. Who knows what other series will come out of this franchise eventually? HBO chief content officer Casey Bloys noted the network is “always working” on various Game of Thrones scripts and ideas.

“We always have ‘Game of Thrones’ scripts in development,” Bloys said when asked about additional spin-offs during a HBO and Max content slate event on Thursday. “I wouldn’t say there’s anything else in that world that is close to greenlit or anything but we’re always working on different scripts and different ideas.”

One idea we know being developed is a sequel to Game of Thrones titled Snow and starring Kit Harrington, back as Jon Snow. However, that doesn’t mean it will get made.

So far ASOIAF creator George R. R. Martin has written 3 books in the Dunk and Egg series, The Hedge Knight, The Sworn Sword and The Mystery Knight, with more planned.

I personally have not yet read any of these novellas, which is a surprise for me. I shall have to get round that before the series airs. We also know there are casting calls out for the two lead characters. Someone tall to play Dunk and a child actor to play Egg. There’s little more to that story and since it’s obvious we didn’t cover it when the news broke.

So, Game of Thrones spin-off (prequel) Hedge Knight series will shoot in Spring, 2024. Are you excited to see A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms? As always leave any thoughts below.
