Ser Davos Actor Willing To Return For Game Of Thrones Sequel Snow – If The Money Is Good

Ser Davos actor Liam Cunningham is willing to return to the role for Game of Thrones sequel Snow. It has been known for some time now that Kit Harrington who played Jon Snow in Game of Thrones had developed a sequel series for his character along with an as yet unnamed writing team. Creator of Game of Thrones George R. R. Martin was the one who made it public the sequel was brought to the table by Harrington.

As of right now, it’s not like Snow has the greenlight from HBO. However, the sequel is under development and frankly it seems highly likely get made in my opinion. Martin himself said what was planned were great ideas. Equally, the return of Harrington in his most famous role will help sell the series from a marketability standpoint.

In a recent interview with Den of Geek, Liam Cunningham who worked closely with Harrington on screen in later seasons of Thrones said he would be willing to return for the sequel. However, he does stress the money on offer would have to be worthwhile.

“I did send [Kit] a text saying, ‘Better Call Davos.’ I haven’t heard anything back,” Cunningham revealed. “I wish them the best to whoever’s involved in it, and if the check is big enough, I might even show up again!”

As much as I enjoy Cunningham’s Davos and would like to see him back. It would actually in my opinion not make much sense for the show. As we know, Game of Thrones ended with Bran on the Iron Throne (figuratively) and Jon banished to the Night’s Watch, again. However, given the threat of the North is over and it was his Wildling pals who ran the place now, they all buggered off North.

Whereas, Sr Davos remained in King’s Landing as part of Bran’s Small Council and tasked with the rebuilding of the fleets and forts of the Kingdom.

Now, if this was ‘Game of Thrones the Sequel’, then we’d expect them all back right? However, I really don’t think that is the plan for Snow. My guess is that Jon will remain North and have almost no contact with his family down South. In other words it begins a new story and a new part of Jon’s life. The only characters I would expect to possibly see are those who went North with Jon at the end, like Tormund. In fact it would be rather odd not to have Tormund return in Snow.

I guess without knowing anything about the plot of Snow, it is hard to be sure of anything though.

What do you think of his comments as Ser Davos actor Liam Cunningham is willing to return to the role for Game of Thrones sequel Snow? Thoughts below, as always.
