This past weekend, Westeros was invaded. Not by White Walkers, but by everyone’s favorite chain coffeeshop: Starbucks. As was noticed by and reported by us earlier in the week, HBO grew a bit careless during the production and post-production process, and the end result was a lone Starbucks coffee cup being left on a table during a scene in this past weekend’s episode of Game of Thrones.
Of course, the internet was set on fire. Fans laughed. Others started formulated conspiracy theories around the whole thing — that HBO did it on purpose to get us talking. I’m pretty sure the Illuminati was brought up at least once by someone online unironically, but the simple truth about it is that it slipped through the cracks of a production.
