While we don’t think Game of Thrones needs any help in the hype train department. As one of the premiere shows on HBO (and on TV in general), it’s a given that anticipation will be through the roof once the final season begins airing next year. But that didn’t stop actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau from giving some praising insight into the conclusion of this years-long journey when speaking to TheWrap:
“I read it, and I wrote [creators] Dan [“D.B.” Weiss] and David [Benioff] and said I don’t think they could have done a better job. I mean, when I read it — I’ve spent so many years working on this and been guessing and trying to figure out how this will end — and when I read it, some of the parts of it I’d get, and other parts of it were just completely shocking and surprising.”
“And it wasn’t, there were none of those horrible — you know shows where it’s a murder mystery and at the very last minute you find out it doesn’t make sense? But here all the pieces fit into this massive jigsaw puzzle.”

Well done, Coster-Waldau. You’ve gone and raised everyone’s expectations now. Sure, he is just an actor in a job, and you can’t exactly expect actors to talks smack about the projects they work on, but this is still quite the praise from someone who is likely as much of a fan of the story the creators have been telling from day one.
Should this talk prove to be true, and the show ends up just as satisfying as we all hoped it would be, it would add a lot of pressure to author George R.R. Martin, who is likely set to finish off this series in 2063.
