The Batman Part 2 has been delayed till 2027 officially and DC Studios boss James Gunn has explained why on social media. The initial report came from Deadline. Check out what they had to say.

‘Post Christmas Warner Bros is busy making release date changes for next year before it rings in and beyond. The most prolific move is that Matt Reeves’ The Batman sequel is heading from Oct. 2, 2026 to Oct. 1, 2027. Production isn’t scheduled to get started until late summer and with a VFX heavy sequel such as this one, a fall 2026 theatrical release is not within reach. The Reeves’ movie will have Imax screens.’

‘Funny enough, Warner Bros always had the first weekend of October 2027 staked out for a DC title.’

‘Sure. Yes, it is true. The only reason for the delay is there isn’t a full script (those of you who follow me here probably know that already). Matt is committed to making the best film he possibly can, and no one can accurately guess exactly how long a script will take to write. Once there is a finished script, there is around two years for pre-production, shooting and post-production on big films.’

I really don’t see much drama here. Unlike it seems the rest of the iindustry. The script is not ready, as we knew and DC Studios only commence production on finished scripts. Of course, that’s not enough for many in the leaker industry.

There are rumors going around that some personal issues have befallen Matt Reeves. I’m not propagating that rumor, just explaining the online chatter. The truth or false of that situation is to my mind irrelevant to the news that the script isn’t going to be ready on time. Therefore, unless some official statement comes out, it’s personal business I won’t be covering.

All I need to know is that The Batman Part 2 is delayed by a year because the script isn’t finished yet.
