According to the latest LOTR Barside Buzz, Gavi Singh Chera will NOT play Sauron in The Rings of Power Season 2. The information comes from the same source who originally claimed this to be the case. If you recall recently we had FoF reveal that they were investigating all their own claims because of a targeting misinformation campaign by Amazon. The leakers group then revealed they had done this and found only one of their stories was incorrect. As I’m sure you’ve already worked out, the incorrect story was this one.

‘Gavi Singh Chera will not play Sauron in the Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 (Internal). Gavi Singh Chera plays a character from a race/ group of people NOT YET SEEN in the show We apologise to Mr Gavi for the reporting. Gavi Singh Chera’s manager and publicist were notified of the reveal a month and a half before the release.’

So Sing Chera is in the show, just playing a denizen of a society we have not yet met. That could be several different possible races. My best guess would be whoever lives East where Norrie and The Stranger are headed this season. However, I could be very wrong, it’s just a guess.

This also does not mean that Sauron will have no other faces besides Halbrand (Charlie Vickers). That still seems highly likely despite the fact we now know it’s not Gavi Sing Chera.
