UPDATE: It’s true. GRRM. FromSoftware…All of it…It’s all true.
The rumors turned out to be true, but despite being revealed at E3, there still isn’t much known about the collaboration between the author and the devs, not even a release date or game mechanics. What we did get was the trailer below. Take a look and let the hype train begin.
ORIGINAL STORY:
In what appears to be a massive leak ahead of an E3 reveal, it seems the George R.R. Martin, celebrated writer of the Game of Thrones novels, is teaming with FromSoftware, the developers of the acclaimed Dark Souls series, BloodBorne and the recent Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice to create Elden Ring.

Due to an apparent security flaw in publisher Namco Bandai’s website, a link was made available that reveals details of the purported collaboration, as well as screenshots and the description below:
Elden Ring, developed by FromSoftware, Inc. and Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., is a fantasy action-RPG adventure set within a world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki—creator of the influential Dark Souls video game series; and George R.R. Martin—author of The New York Times best-selling fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire. Danger and discovery lurk around every corner in FromSoftware’s largest game to-date.
No further details about the game are known at this time, but fans won’t have to wait long. E3 has kicked off in Los Angeles and goes into full swing 11-13 June. Namco Bandai is expected to reveal the game some time then.
