Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire Trailer Takes The Franchise Back To A Chilly NYC

In a recent article covering the upcoming movie, it was revealed that Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire will have a new big bad.

Check out the brand new Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire trailer as the franchise heads back to a chilly NYC. This of course is essentially Ghostbusters 4 and a sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife. As hinted at by the third movie, this time we are going back to NYC and dealing with a brand new threat.

There are returning faces a plenty and also some new blood. See what you think.

So, whatever this new threat is, it makes people literally scared stiff. Interesting, and the first plus point I’ll give this movie is that it’s a brand new story and not just some rehash of what came before. I half wondered whether Viggo would show up in this sequel.

We can see that Ray (Ackroyd) and Peter (Murray) are on board once more, plus the Spengler clan from Aftrerlife. This time it looks like everyone gets a proton pack as the mother Callie (Carrie Coon) and Paul Rudd’s Gary are seen wielding the iconic ghost catching kit.

Ernie Hudson is back as Winston and Annie Potts is back as Janine. Gil Kenan, who co-wrote Afterlife with Jason Reitman, takes over directing duties this time around.

We also can see Patton Oswalt and Kumail Nanjiani who both make their bustin’ debuts in the franchise.

Here is the official synopsis for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire:

“In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.”

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is scheduled to open in theaters on March 29, 2024.

What do you think of this new Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire trailer? Does it look good, bad, or are you just not bothered by the franchise itself? Thoughts below as always.
