Godzilla Vs Kong team up teased by writer, and he also talks Mechagodzilla! Read on for more details.
Godzilla Vs Kong is almost upon us. LRM‘s Gig Patta got to watch Godzilla Vs Kong and chat with writer Max Borenstein. That full exclusive interview will be released on Monday, however we have some snippets to whet your appetite. It goes without saying that there will be some potential mild-SPOILERS within this article. Though, hey that’s your call.
Ok, so we know that at some point Mechagodzilla shows up in Godzilla Vs Kong. The man-made monster is teased in various shots within the trailer. LRM asked Borenstein if he ever considered bringing back any Kaiju from Godzilla: King of the Monsters? Bornstein’s goes on to reveal that in his earlier version of that movie, the antagonist was actually Mechagodzilla. Borenstein was therefore happy to be able to bring the monster into Godzilla Vs Kong.
“Well in Godzilla: King of the Monsters I was like only involved in the first draft of that, and so some of my story stuff remained.” Borenstein told LRM. “But I had far fewer monsters in my version and actually Mechagodzilla was one of the key creatures in that film. And, so I was hopeful that was going to be that film, so once it was decided it wasn’t going to be and went in a different direction? You know, I was excited that it was like ‘now were gonna do that’ because I always thought that’s a great way to give urgency to the Human beings, as now the Humans are operating at the same scale as the creatures.”

Borenstein also teases a Godzilla and Kong team up at the end. Let’s face it, we all knew that was coming.
“You know I think you have to be careful when you use too many monsters that you lose connection to each one. So I thought this film does a really great job of balancing it where for a long time it’s Godzilla and Kong and were really invested in that duel and by the time we introduce a third element we’ve had enough of Godzilla and Kong and were ready to have them unite.”
As fans predicted, Godzilla Vs Kong will end up with the Titan’s having to team up against Mechagodzilla. However, all fans want to know is, are monster fights are cool and it fits together into a enjoyable romp? Gig told Borenstein the movie was very re-watchable in the interview, so that’s a good sign in my eyes.
Godzilla Vs Kong is out already in theatres Internationally and in U.S. theatres and HBO Max March 31st. What do you think if a Godzilla Vs Kong team up, was it always going to happen? Would you have rather seen Mechagodzilla in the previous movie? As always leave any thoughts you have below.
