The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy started as a radio show in 1978 Britain, and it the title of the first in a series of books about the adventures of Arthur, Zaphod, Ford, and Trillian in a crazy galaxy filled with aliens, sneeze monsters, and flying dolphins. The franchise has spawned many books, stage shows, a TV show, and a big-budget Hollywood film starring Mos Def, Martin Freeman, and Zooey Deschanel. The last of which, this author is a huge fan.
The franchise is loved by many and those fans have a good reason to be happy today. According to a Deadline exclusive, Hulu is developing a series with Calrton Cuse (Lost) as showrunner and Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman) as a writer.

According to the report Disney, who basically own Hulu, still own the Hitchhiker’s Guide IP and are working with Cuse and Fuchs due to the duo’s fandom for the property. If they are big fans, this could mean a true-to-source adaptation which would make the fans in the audience very happy.
