Great White Trailer Has Sharks on the Hunt

Sharks remain to be dangerous lurkers and hunters of the sea. With their massive jaws, swift movements, and ferocious appetites, it is definitely safer to be on dry land.

In the new trailer for Great White, the film returns to the root of good old shark movies in the vein of Jaws and 47 Meters Down. The targeted prey is a group of survivors after a shark attack, who sits helplessly on a inflatable raft in the middle of the ocean. Of course, they’ll be easy pickings and we all know how this may end—dinner.

Here’s the brief synopsis for Great White:

In Great White, a blissful tourist trip turns into a nightmare when five seaplane passengers are stranded miles from shore. In a desperate bid for survival, the group try to make it to land before they either run out of supplies or are taken by a menacing terror lurking just beneath the surface.

The film stars Katrina Bowden (Paranha 3DD), Aaron Jaukbenko (The Shannara Chronicles), Kimie Tsukakoshi (The Bureau of Magical Things), Tim Kano (Neighbours: Road Trip), and Te Kohe Tuhaka (The Dead Lands). Martin Wilson (Dark Jungle) directed the movie from a script written by Michael Boughen (The Gamers 2037).

Shark movies are a dime a dozen. Yet, they still provide frightening encounters as they are the terror of the seas. With beaches opening up this summer and tourist travel galore, Great White seems to be just another summer horror flick for shark loving fans. Plus, Katrina Bowden is back in another water-based horror film since Piranha 3DD doesn’t hurt the film either.

Great White is in select theaters, On Demand, and released digitally on July 16.
