Guardians 3: Sean Gunn Says Disney Intends To Use James Gunn’s Script

It’s been a few months since Disney fired James Gunn as director for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The sacking came after a series of controversial tweets for the early 2010s, where Gunn made some off-color jokes, and this has left the film up in the air.

It was supposed to head to production early next year, but Marvel Studios has since pulled it from their schedule, and many have also been left wondering whether or not they plan on using Gunn’s finished script for the film at all. Would they have the guts to use that script after refusing to let Gunn direct?

James Gunn’s brother, Sean, recently spoke with Tulsa World, and in his comments, he gave an update on Disney’s current mindset:

“I don’t really know yet what’s going on with Guardians 3. I know that Disney still wants to make the movie. I know that they have every intention of using the script that my brother wrote. Obviously, that was a very unfortunate situation for everybody, most of all him, but I am also somebody who had been preparing to spend half a year making that movie and now that’s up in the air.”

So, the good news is that we may be able to expect to see Gunn’s voice in the film, should they follow through with their current mindset. However, they’ll still be hiring a different director, and that assumes that they go through with this film at all.

Are you happy to hear they hope to still use it? Let us know down below!
