Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 Set To Film In Atlanta In Early 2019, Rumored 2020 Release Date

While this may come as no surprise to anyone, it looks like yet another Marvel production will be headed to Pinewood Atlanta Studios. According to a report from That Hashtag Show, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘s production will be beginning in Atlanta, Georgia in early 2019.

However, they won’t be waiting around until next year to start filing in. Apparently, one part of the Marvel process is for them to begin pre-production very early, and as such, that pre-production work is already starting in Fayette County, Georgia.

That wasn’t all the report had to say. As of this writing, there has been no official word as to when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 would hit, but James Gunn has said on more than one occasion that it’s 2020. The outlet is stating that the comedy space opera will be the first Marvel Studios film to hit that year, and will debut in theaters on May 1, 2020.

Of course, you should take that particular piece of news with a grain of salt. While we fully believe the report itself, it’s so early on in the game that even if Marvel Studios was looking at May 1, 2020, there is plenty of time for them to change their opinions before they announce the final release date. The same goes for the actual shooting location, as certain tax breaks could keep at least part of the production in California.

None of this is particularly groundbreaking news. For the past decade, Marvel Studios has been a well-oiled machine, so them actually continuing forward business as usual is…well, business as usual.
