Half Of MoviePass Customers Want To Cancel Their Subscriptions

Surprise! MoviePass isn’t really doing so well. If this is news to you, then you may not have been following the company a whole lot, because over the past month or so, they’ve seemingly been doing pretty much everything in their power to guarantee their customers’ undying hatred for them.

Following an infamous blackout, the service changed up its offerings, no longer allowing their customers to check out the latest blockbusters in theaters, instead only giving them an incredibly limited (and seemingly random) selection of potential films to actually see. Furthermore, after many users jumped ship, they miraculously found themselves subscribed once again, only this time to the company’s lesser service.

It looks like that’s having a bit of an impact. In a new report from THR, it is stated that last spring, 83 percent of users were satisfied with the company. In fact, they were more satisfied with them than any other monthly subscription service. Now, in a follow-up survey, it’s been revealed that only 48 percent of users are happy with them. Additionally, 47 percent of them are considering canceling their subscription altogether (though we’ll see if MoviePass decides to hold them hostage).

As someone who thought this service would be a godsend for the industry, I’m pretty happy that I never actually followed through with signing up. As it stands, MoviePass looks to be a sinking ship, one that many users will tell you to stay away from.

Are you a MoviePass subscriber? If so, do you count yourself among the users who want to cancel? Let us know down below!
