SHOWTIMES’ Halo TV Series Wants To Be Game Of Thrones Without The Lannister Family Shenanigans

With it decided who will rule Westeros and the show done and with, both fans and networks are looking for what will fill the void left by Game of Thrones. One show aspires to reach that level is the upcoming SHOWTIME adaptation of the popular video game franchise Halo.

Kiki Wolfkill, 343 Industries transmedia boss recently spoke on the The AIAS Game Maker’s Notebook podcast and talked about the aspects of Game of Thrones that they would like to utilize in the Halo series. You can check out what she had to say below.

“We talk about Game of Thrones a lot in terms of scope and scale and complexity of relationships. A lot of the background of Halo is this sort of political drama. It’s something that [is touched on] really lightly in the games and you see more of in some of the other mediums. Some of that [Game of Thrones-style] complexity is interesting.

She did add one more comment to separate the two shows.

“No incest planned at all for this show.”

Well, I have to say that is disappointing. I am of course kidding. It was weird enough in Game of Thrones, but it did seem to fit with the setting of the show, but would seem totally out of place in most any other series. I’ve always enjoyed the games, and I did watch the web series, but I wouldn’t call myself a super fan of the franchise. Having said that, I will be checking out this adaptation when the time comes.
