Hanna Alström And Claes Bang is the newly wed couple in The Affair.
Vertical Entertainment brings to screen the story based on Simon Mawer’s International best-seller novel, The Glass Room. A story that takes place in the 1930s as best friends prohibited romance goes through a roller coaster of hardship doing World War II.
The Synopsis
In 1930s Czechoslovakia, newlyweds Viktor (Claes Bang, “The Square”) and Liesel Landauer (Hanna Alström, “Kingsman: The Secret Service”) are filled with optimism and happiness in their new home. But all too soon, extramarital temptations bring out their darkest secrets and desires. As Liesel turns to her sensual friend Hana (Carice van Houten, “Game Of Thrones”) for the passion she lacks in her marriage, Nazi troops enter the country, threatening the Landauer’s lives and the burning desire between the two women.

Hanna Alström was born in Sweden and has been acting since the age of five. She is a well known actress in Czech. Alström has been seen in films like A Place in the Sun, Kingsman: The Secret Service, the sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle and Sami Blood.

Claes Bang is a Danish actor and musician. He has won awards for his leading role, Christian in the film Square. Bang has been seen in other films like The Girl in the Spider’s Web and The Burnt Orange Heresy. In addition to participating in television series like Bron/Broen and the Showtimes series The Affair.
I connected with Hanna Alström and Claes Bang via Zoom to talk about The Affair. They both shared their experience filming from the alluring Villa Tugendhat. Alström spoke about playing a strong female character for it’s time in the film. Bang commented about perhaps the title The Affair being his lucky charm.
