The untitled fifth Indiana Jones film is moving forward, with Harrison Ford set to reprise his iconic role as the famed archeologist one last time. One question that has been asked whenever the franchise comes up, is who, if anyone will take on the role after Ford retires. A name that has been thrown around a bit is Chris Pratt.
Variety caught up with Harrison Ford outside of the Screen Actors Guild’s Patron of Artists Awards, and while answering other questions about the upcoming film, Ford was asked if Chris Pratt was to be involved. It’s hard to get a read on exactly what Ford meant with his answer. Is he for or against someone else playing Indy? Does he not like Chris Pratt? Ford could also simply be joking around, and that is what I think is most likely happening here.

I am against anyone else playing Indiana Jones, but if they ever decide to go this way what they should do is focus the film on Indy finding the fabled Fountain of Youth, have Dr. Jones fall into it at the end, and have whoever is to take on the role next emerge from the waters.
No word on the plot or release date just yet, but the film’s release date is still three years away, with Disney pushing it back from an original release date of next year.
