Harry Greenberger Talks Afterlife Romance in Here After [Exclusive Interview]

The key to heaven is to fall in love. That’s how it is in the romantic comedy Here After.

The film follows a recently deceased man in purgatory, who must find his soul mate in order to go to heaven before it’s too late.

The movie stars Christina Ricci, Andy Karl, Nora Amazeder, Jackie Cruz, and Michael Rispoli. Harry Greenberger wrote and directed the movie.

Here’s the official synopsis for Here After:

A struggling actor, Michael, dies right after a bad breakup, awakening to a singles Purgatory where he must find his soul mate in order to cross over to the other side. With limited time to find true love among other recently deceased single New Yorkers, Michael must navigate the customs of ghostly dating life, as if dating in New York wasn’t hard enough already. When he meets the woman of his dreams, who happens to be alive, Michael must figure out how to cheat the system to cross over with her.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with director and writer Harry Greenberger on the film. We talked about the story plot and using the sites and green screen to create a world for purgatory. Also, we talked about his cast, particularly getting Christina Ricci and Army of the Dead’s Nora Amezeder.

For Harry Greenberger, Here After is his sophomore feature film following his debut with Staring at the Sun in 2017.
